The Sage vs The Rhythm Devils
'The Sage vs. The Rhythm Devils' uses other pieces of work for inspiration, and also uses them as an integral part of the new work. This principle of regeneration is inherent in the animation GROW UP!. In this case we have an original piece of written prose applied to the music of Mickey Hart and the Rhythm Devils, a percussion orientated outfit.
Mickey Hart is the author of 'Drumming at the Edge of Magic'. In his book Hart lays an emphasis on drums as invaluable elements of ritual and/or celebration. This is idea is taken more literally in the piece
